01.07.2009 | AIRBRIDGECARGO AIRLINES EXPAND EUROPE-RUSSIA SERVICES WITH NEW FLIGHT FROM MILAN TO MOSCOW

AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC), Volga-Dnepr Group’s scheduled cargo airline, is expanding its freighter services from Europe to Russia with a new route between Milan, Italy and Moscow.

The Boeing 747 freighter will depart from Malpensa airport every Monday and Friday (co-mingling with Amsterdam flight) for Moscow with further flight continuation to Chinese cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong) and offer up to 112 tons of capacity. In Moscow ABC will offer its customers possibility to deliver their cargo to two out of three warehouses: Sheremet’yevo 1 and Sheremet’yevo 2.

 

ABC currently operates 31 flights a week to and from Moscow’s Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo airports, linking Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Budapest and Zaragoza with Beijing, Shanghai, Narita and Hong Kong. The airline also operates scheduled all-cargo services to Krasnoyarsk in Russia.

 

Tatyana Arslanova, ABC’s Executive Senior Vice President, Strategy, Marketing and Sales, said: “We will continue to expand our operations where ABC and its customers see opportunities to do so. In Milan, we have succeeded in gaining a strong, regular commitment from the local freight forwarding industry and we are therefore pleased to be able to support them with the launch of this new service.”

The first B747 freighter flight from Milan was operated on June 29th. The inaugural flight was accompanied by opening event with representatives from the airport, airline and a number of customers.

 

ABC has appointed Kales GSA as its general sales agent in Italy. SEA was chosen to provide ramp handling and ALHA - for warehouse.
