AirBridge Cargo (ABC), ’s first and largest international scheduled cargo airline, has joined the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) and subscribed to all security procedures as recommended by TAPA to underpin its commitment to the highest levels of customer service by using TAPA’s risk management tools.

TAPA is an association of security professionals and related business partners from technology companies who have come together for the purpose of addressing the emerging security threats that are common to the high-tech industry. Started in the United States in 1997 TAPA has been active in Europe since May 1999 and now includes most big-name technology shippers such as Nokia, Motorola, Dell, Sony, Samsung and others. The most popular and widely known TAPA’s risk management tool is Freight Security Requirements (FSR)—a qualitative standard of best practices that enables different levels of classification according to threat levels.

Stan Wraight, President & CEO of AirBridgeCargo Airlines, said: “In cooperation with TAPA we intend to develop new procedures to keep ABC in the forefront of safety and security for high-tech and vulnerable shipments”.
