The aft cargo door and the advanced cargo handling system (rails, guides, wheels, and pivots on the floor) enable the 747-400 freighter to load cargo that is bigger than the door.
The main deck can hold 23 3 meter (10-foot) pallets and 7 2.5 meter (8-foot) pallets.
